Evie here! I write sci-fantasy stories full of myth, dystopias, lost gods, and other weird shit. Currently working on relearning how to draw 🙃 (a decade out of practice here) for my space station comic. Writing a novel about aforementioned gods. And crafting TTRPGs about dragons and gemstones. ☔

I was on a great reading streak, but then I got to a book I really struggled with and lost all momentum. Oddly enough it the sequel trilogy to a series I really enjoyed, but it so heavily referenced the previous sequel I couldn't keep up. Any thoughts how to get my groove back?

The thing that would haunt Death from here to forever, so long as they lived. It was curled about a marble throne, the wisps of itself falling like mist over the edges. It would’ve been breathtakingly beautiful if it wasn’t so ominous.

Because there's a person behind the persona, and I'm not just an author/aspiring artist 24/7... I gave a really huge presentation at work today and it was awesome. I might not have a "routine" or a specific "time I create" but this cadence brings me joy. And what is art without joy?

It didn't surprise him at all, to find Eisali laying on the dunes of the lost with their arms and legs spread out while they made snow angels. Only someone as carefree and understanding as them would ever consider playing in the ashes of the dead as if it were winter snow.

I just finished reading Dark Forest by Liu Cixin and damn. This has to be some of the best hard to soft sci-fi I've ever read. It's definitely dense, but I can't wait to see how the Netflix series handles it. Thinking about my next read while I wait for the 3rd book from my library!
