Went to the British museum and found where these Twitter accounts have been taking their profile pics from:

I keep opening the AI search mode on my Pixel because it's in the way to the search bar.

I wonder if I'm contributing to Google's adoption numbers for AI mode.

There are at least 5 unused parking spaces next to Covent Garden, and like 35 bikes on the bike racks.

@london.gov.uk London needs more bike parking, it costs nothing.

@edzitron.com, don't you hate it when someone repeats your joke but louder?

Few people know that bollards are like bamboo and they can grow up to 60 centimetres overnight!

Cities spend a lot of money making sure that bollards only grow where they need them, but they inevitably miss some (like in the photo).
Only the #WorldBollardAssociation can perform this level of sorcery…

If @london.gov.uk is serious about pedestrianising Oxford Street, they must make it a destination on the cycle network. Families should be able to cycle safely to and from.

You know a piece of software isn't serious when it uses ↵ Enter instead of ⇥ Tab to autocomplete.

#bikesky, I have been thinking - why are few urbanists advocating for bike lanes to kindergartens and schools?

It could enable more people to replace a *daily* car drive with cycling and also enable children to be independent earlier.

You can fit an 8" mitre saw on the back of a bike with some straps, who needs a #cargobike

I wish someone was drawing these designs for UK plot sizes and regulations.
Imagining a 4 storey #SingleStair 8 plex with "family size units" that could fit 'everywhere'.

In this case, a 50x122 residential lot with a lane,
with 50% site coverage.

LLMs are writing pretty good code, considering they haven't been trained on real applications.

The source of most real applications isn't publicly available. The user requirements aren't public. The config someone click-opsed into the cloud isn't public.

It's actually impressive!

I love 3D printing- a retaining clip on my pannier broke, and I could just download a new one and print it.

The Greenwich foot tunnel is joke infrastructure.

The lifts break so often that there is an *automated* board and a webpage.

I was just on a trip to Paris and I loved it's cycle friendliness compared to London today.

Such a great thread, full of really good takes on why the AI hype actually goes beyond just marketing hype.
I keep catching strays from "technology is neutral" people, so let's set things straight.

1) Technology is not neutral, especially the subset of technology called "algorithms"
2) The form-factor that makes a technology into a tool is not neutral
3) How tools are productized is not neutral

First time I've seen a black diamond cycle lane.
Normally posting shots of snow in bike lanes I’d be complaining, but not this time. The city’s a mess, they’re working through it, I’m OK staying off the bike for a few days.

I love how train travel is slowly seeping into the shared European culture.
New train between Paris and Brussels is very slow, but also very cheap compared to Eurostar.

Spend the 99€ on croissants and eat them slowly on the Ouigo.
