it's cool how every day there's a news story about the CDC changing vaccine recommendations and it's right next to a news story about how a kid died from a disease that last killed in 1893 but any reporter that tries to connect the two gets fired by a venture capitalist for taking up ad space

All of the trans woman competition bans follow a simple logic. They see us as men, and they see us competing with cis women in any capacity as unfair because they see cis women as inferior in every aspect to even "failed" men.

I cannot stress enough how much these people hate and detest women.

We need to be able to see that the line "accommodations have gone too far" is an expression of the ableist notion that disabled students do not belong in higher ed. Its fundamentally an anxiety about the fact that disabled students get an "advantage" over abled students.

if you can just claim 1A discrimination for everything, what’s the point of having tests or grades?
9n =63, what is the value of n?
student: 8
teacher: that’s incorrect
student: but my rights!
like wtf.

Ai is a rot at the center of higher education, and it requires a coherent institutional response to address. But universities are too busy investing in exciting new AI products to stop and think about the impact they're having.

Almost everyone in the US has seen these photos at some point: Nazi book burnings, seared into our national psyche as the quintessential expression of fascist tyranny. But few people know what books they were burning, beyond the fact that many of the books’ authors were Jewish.

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.

The fun part of AI in medical fields is that it's created so many breaches of HIPAA sourcing together information, even when insurances process claims via AI entirely without checking patient names and addresses in full.

When all that comes to light there are going to be so, so many lawsuits.

Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?
