I frequently get stuck on music, football, investing/the market, and the NYT Crossword. Definitely not financial advice, and only sometimes the views of my employer.
Just made Nagi’s cheesy broccoli soup and unsurprisingly it is legit.

Oasis is incredible. You see Liam come on stage and you’re like “that is the coolest man ever to exist” but then you see Noel and you think, “that is the coolest man ever to exist.” Crazy that the Liam songs and the Noel songs exist from the same family. $60 bucket hat = worth it.

Here's a take: critiquing or questioning AI is challenging for some because it forces us to contend with our humanism. If you can cut out the messy parts of humanity and trick yourself into believing you can live forever - a certain type of person would live for that.

Spotted a man who looked too much like Liam Gallagher to be Liam Gallagher… unless.

There's a hedge fund called Nelson Peltz but when I see it in print I think of Nelson Muntz.

Browsing an immaculately categorised though overflowing second hand bookstore today and its stereo hit me with a Lou Reed’s Perfect Day and some days just hit exactly right.

I keep thinking about this skeet and how much it sums up my entire existence.
There's sometimes talk about the disadvantages rural kids have when they get to college.

One that doesn't get discussed is just how few types of guy you're familiar with. Your town had maybe like 4 types of guy. You meet all these new people & it takes FOREVER for you to grasp that they're types.

Hotels with a choice of five movie channels are so comfortingly like being back in childhood. So far I’ve watched Harry Potter 3 and a terrible movie called Trap because they were the best options. Limited choice = alright by me.

Ate, prayed, loved too close to the sun and now I’m sunburned on my last full night in Bali. Welp.

Bali has a soundtrack of traditional music, live acoustic covers of western hits, Oasis, and pop punk.

Got as high as 2nd and now I’m in 6th 😭. Still have all my chips to play. What to do.
Somehow I'm now in third.
Update: I won the week, and am coming 5th overall. Not bhed.

Me: “I’m eating so healthily in Bali! Each day a new fruit bowl and local healthy meal!”
Also me: “Which way to your exotic potato chips, please. How do you do Mr Potato? GuriBee Layers? But I hardly know ‘er? Eh eh”

Finished watching all of Animal Kingdom which is basically just a surfing Sons of Anarchy (Suns of Anarchy? Eh eh) and gosh, what a heartbreaker of a family.

Finally learning to cook which means I’m nearly ready to abscond to a cabin in the woods somewhere to live out my days and that’s pretty heartening

Darrell Lea has invented a chocolate filled licorice log - like a reverse bullet, and filled a packet with three of them. This is a public service announcement.
