The disappearance of America’s leadership class at a time like this means that the rest of us have to be leaders. We can no longer wait to be led by those with the power and authority to lead. You must lead, I must lead, all of us must lead. We are the leaders we’ve been waiting for.

If scientists ran the same experiment as many times as Dem campaign strategists have tried the experiment of throwing progressives under the bus to pander to the right and failed, they'd accept it as irrefutable proof that their theory is flawed and adjust accordingly.

I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.
Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?
But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

Everyone in this country believes they would’ve sheltered people from the Nazis in WWII. It’s so easy to pick out the pieces of shit who would’ve immediately winked and pointed toward the attic.
Some academics and administrators are brave in the face of fascism.
Some are not.
Some are complicit.
Some are apologists.
It's not that hard to tell them apart.

Where does someone get radicalized to the point where they shoot up the CDC bc they think the COVID shot is harmful?
Online.
We don’t know what content the August 8 shooter was absorbing, specifically.
But we do know the folks scaremongering about mRNA shots and the CDC. Several work in HHS.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.
This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.
All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

Someone, plz ask him.

This guy — www.apsu.edu/president/in... — is too cowardly to take on the country’s most feckless senator and too dense to recognize a mob of MAGA squealers for what it is. Abysmal leadership that serves only the worst of us. A good man is out of a job because of this.

Wear them publicly. Show us all—no subtlety or dog whistles.

What happened to Charlie Kirk is an opportunity for every politician and reporter who’ve never read a single book on how fascism actually looks across history to reflect on the fact that no matter how much you toe the line, no matter how much you push their talking points, you’re not safe.

Watching all these centrist pundits stress the “civility” of Charlie Kirk’s style without addressing the ugliness of his substance is giving me a renewed appreciation of how the civil, polite White Citizens’ Councils conned the same crowd into thinking they were distinct from the cruder Klan.

Can you see why the Yankees’ moment of silence, the lowered flags, the promise of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, feel like a gut punch to the very people he spent years targeting?
No one wished death on this man, but what we’re seeing right now is too f*cking much.
