Every right-wing “grassroots”organisation in New Zealand is just Jordan Williams, David Farrar, and one randomly-selected Atlas Network apparatchik in a trenchcoat
There's a new "grassroots" website automating supportive emails to Erica Stanford / signatures on an open letter endorsing her attacks on te Tiriti and you have until the end of this skeet to guess who registered the domain name

...

Did you guess Jordan Williams' Campaign Company? Gold star

My nephew is dyslexic and his high school offers an alternative learning track for students like him.
My sister called the school yesterday to confirm she'd like him enrolled in that programme and was told it might not be available next year because the new curriculum doesn't include it. 😱😱

Australia has recognised a fundamental truth: that *everything* depends on healthy wild ecosystems.

Time for the rest of the world to follow suit, and then ACT on it.

This is delightful.
THREAD.

3 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he had been living, in rural Cornwall, and decided he wanted to live with us instead.

We decided to call him Jim.

This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st, 2022.

Remembering the hit of fear as Italians I respect immensely told me in early March that "you must lock down ASAP". While the British government said these were "populist – non-science based – measures that aren't any use" and "they're who not to follow".

As Bill Bailey said about him, if you put him through a 3D printer, he'd come out as a line drawing.
one minute you've got a sweet gig driving brand new BMWs with Crown number plates, with sideline hocking off single-use shovels and Red Bands as new on TradeMe, the next you're just doing laps of the precinct so guys can film copium tiktoks in the back 20 times a day

There were 159,000 written submissions on the Regulatory Standards Bill (on top of over 23,000 submissions last year) - numbers that are second only to the Treaty Principles Bill in NZ’s history.

More than 98% of public submissions were opposed.

There’s a word for this, but it’s not democracy.

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.
