Note to my 8th History students: when studying George Washington's policies, please do not refer to Neutrality as the "N-word." #EduSky

No, students. I am not planning on changing Gulf of Mexico to "Gulf of America" on my school maps. Put that Sharpie away. Looks like Google Maps will do that for you. #EduSky

Getting tired of writing discipline referrals for 8th grade boys saying "Hawk Tuah." Guess I will need to "talk tuah" their parents! Makes for some entertaining calls. #EduSky

My students learned today from a Simpsons episode that phone books actually existed. They were not just an urban legend!! #TeacherProblems #EduSky #sschat

Enjoyed teaching my students how to practice the Click Restraint skill. Several students were shocked Google had a second page of search results! #sschat #EduSky from the Civic Online Reasoning lessons. m.youtube.com/watch?v=gbPE...

There are some challenging days I'm teaching middle school history. Students struggled to understand Gettysburg & the Hindenburg were two very different things. Oh the humanity! #EduSky

Student filled out his quiz re-take entrance ticket. His written study strategy was to "pray really hard." Score was 20% higher. This student may have stumbled upon a new innovative mindset strategy. #EduSky

Civics students, it is true that Arnold Schwarzenegger is not eligible to run for USA president since he was born in Austria. Yes, I am pronouncing his name correctly, so please STOP GIGGLING! #EduSky

I had an 8th grade student get his head stuck in his locker today. TWICE. Is it Friday yet? #EduSky

"The Fire Marshall is coming!" This phrase strikes terror into educators everywhere. At least he did not come on Friday the 13th! #EduSky

No surprise...my middle school students struggled with identifying fake news and misinformation. Some thought the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus was real, but everyone agreed sniffing farts does not cure cancer. Engaging & crucial skill-building! #EduSky #CivicOnlineReasoning #FightFakeNews

Test taking tip of the day: Students, please do not leave multiple choice questions blank. Don't make history class turn into a lesson on probability & statistics. #EduSky #TeacherProblems

Sometimes the stars align and there are signals it will be a great day at school. Daughter was thrilled she trapped & flushed a fly down the toilet. A half day helped avoid an afternoon full of squirrely students during spirit week. #gratitude

Had to explain to my middle school students why we don't lick or eat glue sticks. A typical day that makes for a solid first post! #EduSky
