California is the manufacturing capital of America, period.

We create more jobs, produce more goods, and drive more innovation than anywhere else in the country — because what gets built in California shapes the future and powers the U.S. economy.

These are the lowest cost insurance options for a 62 year old Georgian making $65k.

2025: $228
2026: $1142

She will lose $704/month in credits because of GOP cuts to health care.

This is a crisis. We cannot wait to fix this.

Trump’s proposed “compact” with nine major universities “is extortion, plain and simple,” Erwin Chemerinsky writes. “It is not hyperbole to say that the future of higher education in America requires that every university reject it.”
Opinion | Trump’s ‘Compact’ With Universities Is Just Extortion
There seems to be no limit to the president’s odious attempts to control higher education.

Interesting that Trump doesn’t consider the agency (BLS) that puts out the jobs report as essential employees during the shutdown. Is there any chance if he thought the report was going to be good on Friday he would be furloughing these workers and refusing to put it out?

Republicans control every branch in Washington.

Now, Trump is openly giddy about using the shutdown to slash and burn federal resources that working Americans count on.

His shutdown, and firings, will hurt people in every part of this country.

Jeffries: “Republicans have shown zero interest in even having a conversation after the White House meeting on Monday. We've seen behavior by the president that is unserious and unhinged. And Leader Schumer and myself haven't gotten a single phone call as it relates to a follow-up conversation.”

IF ANY CALIFORNIA UNIVERSITY SIGNS THIS RADICAL AGREEMENT, THEY'LL LOSE BILLIONS IN STATE FUNDING — INCLUDING CAL GRANTS — INSTANTLY.

CALIFORNIA WILL NOT BANKROLL SCHOOLS THAT SELL OUT THEIR STUDENTS, PROFESSORS, RESEARCHERS, AND SURRENDER ACADEMIC FREEDOM.

SCOOP: At 9:35am on Wednesday, the first morning of the US government shutdown, employees at the Small Business Administration (SBA) received a template from human resources for their suggested “out of office” email. They were advised to blame the Democrats.

MAGA: If you want to know what the rest of the world thinks of Donald Trump, here you go.

They think he's an idiot and a buffoon.

Because that's what he is.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

NSF’s doors will be closed at 1:30 pm today. While you may be able to submit things, there will be no staff to process anything. In fact it is illegal for us to even open our work computers or email during a shutdown. A very few rotators may be able to communicate, so check out of office responses.

America is in the midst of a self-inflicted economic damage, federal government shutdown, and daily humiliation on the global stage.

All within just nine months of Donald Trump returning to the White House with full GOP control of Washington.

I don't often quote the president, but here goes:

"If there is a shutdown, I think it would be a tremendously negative mark on the president of the United States. He's the one that has to get people together."

While anti-vaxx nonsense spreads, we've damaged federal public health agencies and demonized the people who work there. We are in uncharted territory.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported 1,514 measles cases as of Sept. 24, the highest number of annual cases since the United States declared measles eliminated in 2000.
