Since it is Juneteenth, I will share a lil something...

My ancestors were slaves in Texas & were freed on June 19, 1865. They came together to meet with other ex-slaves & formed the Limestone County 19th of June Organization. They bought 30 acres of land on Lake Mexia.

Feelimg gloomy about a lot of worldly events and such today. But this article about Annea Lockwood, 85, “who spins music from the sounds of the natural world, is sharing with and learning from a new generation of artists” is cool.

Moved forward with my diorama hobby. Watched a bit of the De La/Wu/Nas concert on Prime.
I’m late with our weekly tradition, and not really feelin’ it this week… but that’s when it matters most.

Maybe y’all can lift me up with some chicken soup for the soul.

Tell me something good.

What good thing happened in your life this week?

Small, medium, or large, size doesn’t matter.

Black in Blues will be released on the 65th anniversary of Zora Neale Hurston’s transition. I’m praying that it honors the ancestors and that its (inevitable) flaws won’t prevent it from being a conduit for their witness and wisdom.
