Mel really was a sexy lad though.
Running! Mel Gibson! Pointless sacrifice! Leopards*! This week, we're watching the amazing Gallipoli, one of the best films about WW1 and trying to outrun a big cat.

Do companies still do those industrial scholarships for university?
November 27, 2025 at 6:19 PM
Every time I see the word “Enron”, I’m reminded of how smug the absolute worst bitch in my class at school was about her Arthur Anderson industrial scholarship to university and the utter delight of seeing her moping along the Strand just after it all went to shit.
This is how Enron did its accounting (seriously)
On one side of the ledger, we have half a trillion dollars in operating losses expected over the next 5 years.

On the other side of the ledger, we have all the money we'll hypothetically make when the hypothetical technology we imagine comes into existence mostly on its own.

So it's net positive.

Yet another rail journey between London and Glasgow, fucked.
The distressed state of this country’s infrastructure is so tiresome and its failures so very wasteful.

I’ve just realised I don’t know what the word “feature” means and am quite alarmed.

Struggling with this as
1.) Ian Botham is one man so by definition, he cannot fire a "salvo".
2.) In the first line, he apparently 'fires a broadside' too. Which implies he's a ship of the line. Now I know we've all seen his mast, but c'mon.
3.) He is stating the utterly obvious.

Not a problem for the Labour Party to deal with, this one. FML what an unbelievably stupid thing to complain about.
Worth saying that despite asking for more than 12 hours we’ve had nothing back from Labour on this
A Conservative MP tipped as a future party leader has been condemned for saying large numbers of legally settled families must be deported, in order to ensure the UK is mostly “culturally coherent”.

Day 478 of this particular minister having absolutely no skill, knowledge or interest in her brief.
This is the dream job for so many people (present company included).
It’s so annoying that they (all of them) keep giving it to such crap people.
Where is Rupert Campbell-Black when you need him?
Lisa Nandy: "He's right to say that it is unprecedented in recent times that an entire group of away supporters have been entirely banned from a game"

Unprecedented in recent times? In 2023 Legia Warsaw fans were banned from a game at Villa Park.
