Every day, Mohammed used to come home from school with a new poem.

Now, he comes home with bread — and worry.

Despite everything, he still believes in the right to dream, to learn.

UNRWA is keeping education going in #Gaza through distance learning and temporary schools in shelters.

“I don’t know where my leg went.” (Malak, age 6).

In #Gaza, countless children have been injured, many losing limbs or living with lifelong disabilities.

#UNRWAworks to provide health services and care to help children rebuild their lives.

Only UNRWA can deliver lifesaving aid at the scale #Gaza needs. We have the network, the experience, and the trust of the community.

The State of Israel must let UNRWA bring in the huge amount of aid that has been blocked in our warehouses in Jordan and Egypt since 2nd March.
Let UNRWA do its work.

“I am the youngest Student Parliament President in UNRWA schools in Jordan. On the first day of school, I was very excited and happy,” says Shahd, an UNRWA student in Grade 8.

161 UNRWA schools across Jordan provide education to over 100,000 #Palestine Refugee girls and boys.

For 2 years too long, UNRWA has been calling for a ceasefire in #Gaza.

The scale of suffering and destruction is unimaginable.

1.9 million people are forcibly displaced.

Tens of thousands have been killed and wounded.

On this #PeaceDay – like every day – we call again for a #CeasefireNow

Shift the focus in #Gaza to:

➡️ immediate ceasefire

➡️ humanitarian aid

➡️ political will

➡️ humanity

Allow UNRWA to bring in our aid and distribute it safely, and at scale.

"No place is safe in #Gaza
No one is safe.

Airstrikes in Gaza City and the north are intensifying.
More and more people are forced to leave, disoriented and uncertain, heading into the unknown."

In #Gaza, since the beginning of the war, an average of a classroom of children is killed every day.
#Ceasefirenow
An average of 28 children have been killed each day since the start of the war in #Gaza – the equivalent of an entire classroom, every day for 21 months. Quoting UNICEF.

The people in #Gaza desperately need humanitarian aid, blocked by Israeli Authorities for over 4 months.

Allow UNRWA to deliver lifesaving supplies.

Aid deliveries and distribution must be at scale and safe.

In Gaza, this can be done through the United Nations including UNRWA.

“UNRWA has thousands of trucks of supplies waiting to get into #Gaza. We have enough food for the entire population for a month - that’s 180 million meals,” UNRWA Sam Rose says.

And it’s not just food - critical medicines, shelter items and basic hygiene supplies.

Let us do our work.

Children make up half of the population in #Gaza.
Their lives are marked by war and destruction.

Out of classrooms.
Forced to flee.
Barely eating.
Gaza has 1 million children.

#CeasefireNow for Gaza’s children and a better future in the region

UNRWA stays and delivers, a lifeline for the population. It operates several aid programmes incl. solid waste, sanitation, providing drinking water, psychosocial support to traumatized children and some form of learning. UNRWA also remains the largest provider of primary health in Gaza.

As hard as that is to believe, the situation keeps deteriorating. It is worse than hell for 2 M people whose houses were bombed, who were forcefully displaced countless times, thirsty and hungry, desperate, many awaiting for their death.

This week with former First Minister of Scotland @humzayousaf.bsky.social , we discussed the dreadful situation in the Middle East and the importance for @unrwa.org and others to keep on doing their work in #Gaza.
We also discussed concrete ways in which 🇺🇳 UNRWA and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland could further cooperate.

Thank you Mr Robertson of @thesnpmedia.bsky.social for your understanding of the situation and commitment to help UNRWA save lives.

With 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Cabinet Secretary @angusrobertson.bsky.social, we discussed the hard reality in Gaza, the inadequacy of the current aid mechanism when malnutrition rates are skyrocketing, and the financial challenges facing UNRWA.

I stressed that @UNRWA stays and delivers in Gaza and West Bank.
