When people say “but what about the good policies” they fail to understand the anger these things produce. As someone living on benefits due to disability & *still trying* to get PIP, the attack on disability alone was so personal, so cruel, literally nothing they do now would make me trust them

This section showcases research that critically analyses the politics of (counter)terrorism and security. We invite papers, panels, and roundtables covering intersectional critiques of international and domestic counter-terrorism policies, critical knowledge production, and methodological innovations and challenges in critical research. In addition to this, we welcome contributions looking at the practicalities of critically researching terrorism, safeguarding issues for both the researchers and their subjects, the challenges of publishing critical work, and communicating with mainstream audiences. We will also provide space to focus on academic freedom and discuss how scholars can undertake research-led teaching and bring criticality into the classroom. Given the attacks on academic freedom, especially on scholars involved in Palestine solidarity work, we must also address the need to embody the ethos of scholar-activism in the current climate and discuss how critical research and activism can survive in the neoliberal academy.
