2.7 million people who qualify for Universal Credit are in work, but receive such a low income that tax payers need to pay them enough to survive. It's not people on benefits who are freeloading off us, it is businesses paying their workers too little.

Brexit has made the UK economy 6%–8% smaller than it would have been if we had stayed in the EU. That is £165bn-£225bn a year.

That is a loss to the government budget of around £65bn to £90bn a year.

Imagine what Reeves could do with that kind of money.

A survey cited by the Express and Telegraph found that older individuals are the most concerned about the negative impact of the Budget on their personal finances.

Don't forget: the older you are, the more likely you are to have voted for Brexit, the biggest avoidable blight on the economy.

The government admits profiteering is rife in children’s care and social care, yet it still wants private finance back in the NHS. This is an ideology where a few will profit while everyone else pays.

This is how your £100 Income Tax was spent...

£22 → NHS
£6 → Defence
£10 → Education
£10 → Debt interest
£11.40 → State pensions
£4.15 → Working-age welfare (PIP, Universal Credit, health support, etc.)
£0.50 → Asylum system
£0.70 → Overseas aid

Yeah! Hate spending that £1.20!

I’d have thought nothing cuts more against our precious British values than selling out your country for Russian bribes…

And yet Reform, the right‑wing press, and all those self‑styled guardians of these values have nothing to say

…funny that.

That's how the corrupt Tories do business, while people died. That's the same Dido Harding who oversaw the hack of millions of customers records from TalkTalk and hadn't got a clue if they were encrypted or not🤦‍♂️ So why not give her 37bn to play with. It is truly sickening how corrupt they are.

Lots of comment suggesting this story reveals Reform’s allegiance to Putin. Maybe so but it also reveals Reform’s willingness to exploit public office for personal enrichment. Don’t forget Farage has earned over a million quid exploiting his profile. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

He's accused of ripping off his constituents to the tune of £140k.

He owes his own council nearly £40k in unpaid tax.

His own council is suing him.

There is no evidence that stripping refugees' rights one by one will have any impact on people crossing the channel.

Taking jewellery from refugees is akin to painting over murals for refugee children.

These repugnant ‘deterrents’ did not work for the Tories, and they won't work for us.

A strong immigration system doesn't need to be a cruel one.

It shouldn't need saying - but refugees & asylum seekers are real people, fleeing war and persecution.

This daughter of an immigrant is proud of our British and Labour values of respect and not turning our backs on people in real need.
