Chilli with ground beef, chorizo, black beans, and lots of oregano from the garden with brown rice for supper. Spice mix is a home blend of died chipotle, coriander, cumin, salt & pepper, cayenne, and garlic powder. A pantry & freezer supper with canned fire-roasted tomatoes.

A few random pictures from walks when out and about this weekend.

A narrow country lane with tall hedges on either side. Ahead is a large tree, fully green of leaf and canopy hanging over the entire road.

A fruit tree, with many fruit hanging from various branches, against a partially clear sky on a sunny day.

The upper portion of a wooden stile, allowing access to a field in which is growing a crop. Ivy or other creepers grow around the uprights of the stile.

A gap between the upright of the end of a wire mesh fence, and the start of a hedge. The gap leads to a grassy gently sloping field. Years of walkers have revealed the roots of the bushes or trees which make up this part of the hedge.

Even if you hate it, build that stretching and regular light exercise regime now because when you have knee surgery in your late 40s nothing the rehab is brutal without those habits in-built.

All of us who are US citizens suffer from moral injury from the things done in our name, including the denial of basic needs this country can well afford to address, including healthcare to all immigrants. It would heal that moral injury to do this; it's an ethical act, not just a practical one.

I'm sorry, but what's wrong with giving health care to immigrants? Republicans don't even want to give health care to citizens, but I don't understand the argument against keeping people who contribute billions of dollars to the economy healthy. It's also less expensive in the long run.
