Leg day class. Got to do RDLs with a barbell (20kg bar w/ 10kg of plates). Ngl it was really fun and might influence how much I try to do them with dumbbells in future.
Got obliterated for the rest of the class thanks to a resistance band but it is what it is 😂

So I thought I’d take a video to check my form doing RDLs. This was 10 reps using 2x 10kg dumbbells. I think the hip hinge is fine, but I was curious as to whether my shoulders drop when I go down. Also if my back is straight enough.

Boxfit was cancelled so did a bit of a improv leg day. Thought I’d do warm up on the elliptical then see where the mood takes me. Been thinking about how I should start training to failure but I’m not sure if I’ve got there just yet. At least I now know where to start #GymSky #WorkoutSky #workout

Leg day. Things are looking up. After feeling like a dumpster fire for a week, today felt genuinely good. Also started eating proper breakfasts so I’m not going insane by lunchtime 😂
Just need to sort out my sleep and get back into the gym routine

Thought I’d add some inner monologue to my notes because there were certainly some thoughts 😂 Triceps sucked today and had a good case of the shakes. But that’s why I have to train them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yesterday’s boxfit class. I was absolutely knackered. It was death by burpees. Wasn’t feeling fantastic to begin with and nearly talked myself out of going but ultimately I’m glad I turned up.
Going to the gym later today for weights so looking forward to that

Leg day class. Tougher than I thought it was going to be. Started with the exercises I was going to struggle with if I was tired and I’m glad I did. After the hip thrusts and sumo squats I was DRENCHED in sweat. Need to remember to put electrolyte tablets in my gym bag

Back and biceps. First one with some cardio incorporated at the end (hence the heart rate spike). Not too bad seeing as it’s been a while since I’ve done this workout.
Only issue I have is that I feel I have to rush through strength training to have time for cardio

Boxfit class and abs afterwards. Pretty good (but hot) session. Still aching from Friday’s leg day which brought some amusement to my trainer. Didn’t have anything planned for afterwards so did the abs and stretching class afterwards. Can’t wait for the ache tomorrow 🤣

Leg day class. Oof…definitely feeling the lack of gym consistency. Fair enough, it was a bit of trial by fire and we only got 10secs between each exercise. But I’ve got to get some sessions booked in as it seems to be the main way to get my butt in the gym

Leg day and first time back in the gym for a few weeks. Nobody else turned up for the class so I pretty much got a free PT session. Was awesome though. Got pushed to some good weights that were personalised to me.

Well I’ve not been to the gym for nearly 2 weeks. Got a tattoo infection while at my festival 🤌🏻 Finished my antibiotics today so took the opportunity to get some exercise in with a long walk.
Hopefully I can get back to working out by next week 😊

Last Boxfit before Bloodstock! Heading off on Wednesday and will be back next Monday. Won’t be able to do vigorous exercise for a couple of weeks because I’m getting tattooed so it’s going to be rethink my workouts for a bit

July has been a bit of an iffy month and I haven’t very consistent. I usually go to the gym with my fiancée (I drive us there) which had an effect on motivation.
However starting next month we want to jump back with 5 days a week.
Got a rough weekly plan so let’s see how it goes

Leg day! Love going to these classes, they’re pushing me each and every session. There’s still some things I need to work on though. My other workouts have been lacking / non-existent so I need to figure it why that is and turn it around

Not been quite with it recently and forgot to post yesterday’s #workout, so here’s yesterday’s upper body workout and today’s leg day class. Two completely different vibes but it’s easier to get motivated when others are around to support you. Here’s to the jelly legs and DOMS 🤣

Got me skipping for the first time since primary school. Kind of forget the coordination needed so my arms got smacked by the rope several times.
Feeling a little achy in some places. I blame having to do all those pushups 😂

Leg day class!
Pretty good session today. Got treated to a blast of the air con in the weights room which was really needed. Was pushed to try some heavier weights but tbh I needed the challenge.
Bad news is I now have a small seam split in my shorts 🤣

Core, back and biceps! Considering my upper back/shoulders were achy beforehand and I only had 4.5hrs sleep, today’s session went alright 👍
I feel that this routine is nearly perfect (only took a month of trial and error) so I can just focus on improving my numbers

Boxfit and abs and stretch! Boxfit went alright. Just tried focussing on pacing myself so I could keep going. Burpees can still do one 🤣

Next year’s #ToughMudder dates have been released and it’s going to be about this time next year. The question is what distance I want to do?
To anyone who’s done endurance races, what would you recommend? Should I start small, or have I got enough time to train big?
