Things to consider: losing scientists in US means ⬇️ science projects begun & finished. ⬇️ publications by US scientists, ⬇️ opportunities for future scientists.
Science in this country will come to a halt. Public health & quality of life will ⬇️ & loss of life will ⬆️.
It’s our present & future.
I’ve an academic curiosity why I have very little to none tolerance for anything capsaicin, but smearing wasabi on my tongue is ecstatic.

I’m known as a #capsaicin weenie.

My first response to headline ‘A bright future for solar power’.

“Not in this country (US)!! The future here is like ‘Blade Runner’.”

Increasing energy supply > decreasing energy consumption.
Two principle components in this equation. Yet nearly most attention & resources are on the L side of equation. The R side comprises the Three Monkeys: deaf, mute, and blind. 1/2

I feel for the little guy.

When I was about six or seven, my father threw me in the lake from the dock. Twice.

This exact fact has been bugging me for several years. I distinctly remember all the ruckus Obama had to go through for this.
It shocks the hell out of me that so many people have forgotten that or just don’t know. Neither is any excuse.
How do so many democrats still not understand that the ACA *was* the compromise.

And it’s a hard rain falling.

Not much has changed since Dylan wrote and sang this…. except that the rain is falling harder now.
I vividly remember folks in the audience (1969) around me in tears and singing along with him. Now we are deaf.

people who can compartmentalize elon musk’s actions and are able to keep using his app must better at navigating social realities than i’ll ever be
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

How does everyone cope with all the nightmarish crap going on in this #USclusterfuck?
Sometimes I pinch myself hoping I’m just having a nightmare.

I learned quickly to answer “We do stuff” when asked about my research projects. Until I saw the movie “Osmosis Jones”. Then I created similar stories. 😁
Explaining the insulin-BG system was my fav, involving janitors, dump trucks, cell membrane door bells, recycling bins, etc.
Oh for forks sake, Steve!

That’s for freakin’ sure. People are buckling under electrical bills, avoiding turning their heat on, turning off their hot water heaters or eating out rather than cooking at home.

Just read that there are 350 theories on #consciousness.
Which, to me, is ironic.
Shouldn’t that be “hypotheses”?

Reminds me of the classes downstairs at the gym. I bet Steve would be welcomed there but have a difficult time in the weight room. 🏋️‍♂️

One summer while working at a wildlife refuge my escape & grounding was sitting on the bank of a giant pond watching a family of otters. Never knew they could be such clowns, they seemed to like having an audience.
This is my new escape. 🦦😁
Brad has bet Steve a fiver he can't somersault all the way from our house to the pub. He's not out of the kitchen yet.

Shouldn't the American people at large be outraged????
What's wrong with this country?!
Congress doesn't give a shit that he's destroying everything.
💥💣🤯
Congress is letting damn near everything happen
The president is establishing the principle that he can order the murder of anyone he deems a threat.
And Congress is letting it happen.

Anyone who didn’t foresee this coming as a result of his gaining the Presidency is blind and in denial.
I would take this even a bit further and say that the death cult Trump now leads is on a glide path to forever power and the end of American democracy. In other words, if nothing changes from how things are going right now, it is highly unlikely America will be *any* sort of democracy by early 2027.
Trump and GOP are planning on forever power. I still don't think people realize it. You need Democrats who are willing to step up and fight.

The divide grows bigger.
New w/ @bencasselman.bsky.social: Wealthy Americans, buoyed by a booming stock market, are spending freely. Lower-income households, stung by inflation and a slowing labor market, are pulling back
