My review of A BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY for @screenrant.bsky.social. I only wish I’d liked it more.
A Big Bold Beautiful Journey Review: Colin Farrell & Margot Robbie's Romantic Fantasy Is A Study In Manufactured Sentimentality
A rousing story about finding someone and falling in love this is not — nor does it truly contend with the need for human connection very well.

TUNER is a solid film. Leo Woodall is especially great as the titular character who gets caught up in heists to help pay off his friend’s medical debt. Great sound design and story that’ll keep you engaged. #TIFF50 #TIFF2025

THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE was not for me. A hollow film that doesn’t offer any real depth or insight into the real-life woman it follows. Amanda Seyfried’s performance and singing voice are excellent though. #TIFF50 #TIFF2025

My review of BAD APPLES. Saoirse Ronan is excellent per usual. A dark comedy that will have you laughing and gasping. #TIFF2025 #TIFF50
Bad Apples Review: The Most Unhinged Dark Comedy You'll See This Year Boasts A Wildly Funny Saoirse Ronan Performance
The film is genuinely funny, and the cast is up to the task as the story balances impending consequences for Maria’s actions and gasp-inducing comedy.

HAMNET is definitely a must-see. It will move you to tears — happy and sad. It’s a gorgeously shot, masterfully told and acted film. Best of fest so far. #TIFF50 #TOFF2025

What a lovely, tender film. RENTAL FAMILY stole my heart. Perhaps one of my favorite films at #TIFF50 #TIFF2025 so far.
Rental Family Review: Brendan Fraser Delivers A Deeply Touching Performance In One Of The Year's Best Dramas
It’s a heartwarming film that asks thoughtful questions, and I promise you won’t be disappointed by its answers.

Cillian Murphy is always great but the supporting cast in STEVE is particularly excellent. #TIFF50 #TIFF2025
Steve TIFF Review: Cillian Murphy Gives A Stirring Performance In Experimental Drama, But It's Jay Lycurgo Who Steals The Show
With a phenomenal ensemble, the supporting actors, namely Jay Lycurgo, is so excellent that I would’ve liked the film to focus more on them.

My review of WAKE UP DEAD MAN. Not as good as the previous two installments but these franchise films remain enjoyable. #TIFF50 #TIFF2025
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery Review - Rian Johnson's Sharp Franchise Has Lost Some Of Its Edge With Latest Mystery
Rian Johnson still keeps us on our toes, but the franchise has lost some of its footing with this one.

Recap of films seen today at #TIFF2025:
Sentimental Value - amazing, perfect, no notes.
A Private Life - an interesting drama that has good intentions but is a bit all over the place.
It Was Just an Accident - a strong story of vengeance with an even stronger cast. I was riveted the whole time.

Sentimental Value is phenomenal. So much feeling and things left unspoken, which authentically touches upon the depth of the father/daughter relationship at its core. Amazing performances and layered storytelling. Joachim Trier does it again. #TIFF50 #TIFF2025
