I thoroughly enjoyed Exhalation by Ted Chiang. The short scifi stories had so much worldbuilding and depth as they explore their subjects - owner responsibility to sentient virtual pets, archeological creationism, closed loop time travel (in the age of sultans), cashing in on alternate realities.
I just read The Tainted Cup as part of a book club I'm in and liked it so much I ended up reading A Drop of Corruption immediately after. Really well done fantasy whodunnits with a setting that gives me kinda Morrowind vibes

The TL:DR is that my friend Fisher (softcgvibes) has blocked me because ~11 years ago I told his new "owner" Pete the Lucky Pirate (aka joshua lore aka gamepups) that I didn't want to be friends anymore (we never met) and it still hurts him.
