This week I got to visit the Netzarim Corridor in the central Gaza Strip, where the IDF has established temporary bases for an indefinite stay.

It's a bit of a long read, but hopefully captures the current situation on the ground.

The IDF says it carried out a drone strike in southern Lebanon earlier today, targeting a Hezbollah operative who was violating the ceasefire agreement after he was was spotted loading up a vehicle with weapons.

The drone strike was carried out to "remove a threat," the military says.

One of the slain troops is named as Maj. (res.) Moshiko (Maxim) Rozenwald, 35, a company commander in the Combat Engineering Corps' 7107th Battalion, from Modi'in.

The assessment is being held with the IDF General Staff Forum, the military's top brass.

The IDF says it has recovered the body of hostage Itay Svirski from the Gaza Strip, in a joint operation with the Shin Bet security agency.

Earlier this year, the IDF said that Svirski had been murdered in captivity by Hamas terrorists.

The IDF says it carried out a drone strike against a Hezbollah rocket launcher that was spotted in southern Lebanon's Majdal Zoun earlier today.

Following Hezbollah's mortar attack on an IDF position in the Mount Dov area this evening, Defense Minister Israel Katz vows a "harsh response."

"We promised to act against any violation of the ceasefire by Hezbollah, and that is exactly what we will do," he says on X.

Both projectiles hit open areas, causing no injuries, the army says.

The IDF announces the death of Cpt. Omer Maxim Neutra, 21, who was killed and abducted by Hamas on October 7, 2023.

Neutra, a lone soldier from New York, served as a tank platoon commander in the 7th Armored Brigade's 77th Battalion.

Sirens sounded in central Israel amid the incident.

Shrapnel from the interception reportedly fell within Israel. There are no immediate reports of injuries.

The slain soldier is named as Staff Sgt. Zamir Burke, 20, a heavy equipment squad commander in the 601st Combat Engineering Battalion, from Beit Shemesh.
