Just learned of the passing of Prof. Axel Becke. He was the first chemistry professor I had arriving at Queen’s, and he was always so pleasant in all interactions I had with him. Huge figure in computational chemistry.

Maintaining my position that if baseball cannot determine a champion before Oct. 31, the players should have to wear costumes for any Halloween games.

I know a lot of people talk about "Ken Griffey's swing", "John Olerud's swing" but for my money there is nothing more beautiful than Alejandro Kirk:
- 5'7 and built like a Welsh corgi
- basically drops halfway into a splits on each swing
- each swing is a Street Fighter "Shooooryuken" uppercut

I remember, vividly, watching “the bat flip” with mom and dad. I think they would have enjoyed George’s home run equally as much.
