Overly crafted and carefully worded summary that gives you the impression that I am well-read, care about important things, and am both confident and likable
“Leave the office behind with Google’s AI App”

What? So you’re telling me that someone said “hey- people daydream at work when they’re bored. Let’s see if we can shove AI into that too”
What is this for. Who finds this appealing. Why is so much money being spent on this. What is happening to peoples’ brains.

Anyway, it's kind of insane that Carville's claim to fame was getting a candidate 43% in a presidential election (the lowest winning share of the popular vote since Woodrow Wilson) and we've had to hear from him non-stop for three+ decades.

It’s blowing my mind that schools, universities, public services would run headlong into this. We spent 15 years documenting black boxes. This is a black box in a black hole!
I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

Why does JS development tooling still seem so fragile? Bun's pretty great, but once you step outside of that it feels like npm all over again.

Astral's python tooling feels like a luxury Cadillac

you see a similar thing with guys like Elon. they acquire money and acclaim but they still don’t feel “cool” in the way that they perceived their childhood bullies as cool. so they try to replicate the bully behavior, but it never quite lands.

it’s important to understand that Nate Silver’s entire consciousness is filtered through the lens of being a gross nerd his entire life. the opportunity to feel like he’s one of the cool kids is something he can’t pass up, it’s load-bearing for his dork psyche.

Now, to people unfamiliar with the startup world, that might seem bad, but consider this: they also don't have a plan to turn a profit in the future.
ICYMI: Microsoft’s charge “implies a more than $12 billion quarterly loss at OpenAI, said Firoz Valliji, an analyst at Bernstein.”

That “would mark one of the largest single-quarter losses for a tech company in history.”

The more democratic elements of the American constitutional and economic order are actually throwing up road blocks to Trumpism. Protests and boycotts and low level courts and juries and cetera. Elite actors on the other hand are all too frequently caving. Fascinating study in who actually cares!
