Mostly just talking shit about football, politics and more recently gaming. Recovering podcaster.
The wee yin is up the road from Uni down South this weekend, so we had a family movie night. The Mrs picked the movie and her track record for this type of thing is stinking. She went for I Swear, a movie about a Scottish guy living with Touretts. It was a rough watch, but a class movie.

Been in my current job roughly 3 years. Have never done a works night out, sometimes through circumstance, sometimes by design. Saw my gaffer off to pastures new, he’s a good guy who always had my back on personal shit, so wanted to buy him a pint and say thanks. That shit got sloppy very quickly.

You worry about club heroes coming back after they’ve left, the last thing you want is someone sullying their legacy. If, by the looks of things, tonight is MON’s last game - he’s only enhanced the regard in which he’s held. Couldn’t imagine the performances he got from these players under Rodgers.

It’s just occurred to me that in 15 years in this house I’ve encountered dogs, foxes, a rabbit, a hedgehog, some bats and a squirrel with a square of Dairy Milk hanging out its mouth whilst smoking at the front door, but none of the neighbourhood cats stop by. Good call by the cats tbf.

Didn’t see the game tonight as I had other shit on and 8pm on a Saturday is also just a mental KO time. Hearing lots of gripes about performances, but folk need to be realistic. Even if the interim manager is St Martin, there’s only so much that can be done with some of these players.Take the result

Pretty mental that at a time where responsible, capable corporate governance would dictate calming the waters, the Celtic board allowed someone with no official remit the floor to drag fans/ customers and at an AGM no less. I’ve never seen unprofessionalism on that scale from us before.

Steve Clarke finally proving that it’s possible to harness the overwhelming power of Scottish negativity and use it as a valuable resource for positive outcomes. I really don’t like him or his football, but put him on a banknote already.

Craig Gordon is roughly a year younger than me

Screamed like a teenage girl at a Taylor Swift concert when KT banged the third and was bouncing all over the living room like a one man mosh pit for the 4th, wife now awake, daughter is up and the dug going tonto to the fireworks outside - maybe the only time Scotland has made me happy 😂

Finished Ghost of Yotei yesterday, I really enjoyed it. A cracking sequel, a real iteration of everything the first game did well and less of what it didn’t. Heavy Kill Bill vibes throughout, which I also liked. Especially the first Spider fight, you’re own personal ‘Crazy 88’ moment.

I don’t get the criticism of the potential Nancy appointment. We complain when one of Desmond’s mates get it as it’s lazy. We offer it to someone who is on paper an exciting up and coming manager who has won trophies in a short career so far and folk are saying it’s cheap. Can’t win.

There are people unironically listening to Nickleback in the office today and I can’t help but think: isn’t this explicitly why headphones were invented?

Was watching St Roch’s today and genuinely seen one of the best FK goals I’ve ever seen. 20-ish yards out, in line where the semi circle at the edge of the 18 yard line and the 18 yard line meet. Found the inside netting on the near post at shoulder height and spun so hard it rolled around the net.

So, having had a kid, I get wanting to go to an organised firework display on Bonfire Night, they’re awesome. What I don’t and will never get is the neighbour that spends several hundred pounds on turning your and their back gardens into the Gaza Strip on a Wednesday night in the pissing rain.

The determination to keep coming forward, keep grafting today was an absolute joy to see by comparison to the lacklustre performances we’ve been getting this season.

As well as a romantic meal for two at Nando’s, I won this at the charity do I was at down my uncle’s ludge tonight, needless to say I donated it back to be auctioned off over the weekend:

2 rules in life as a football fan: 1) don’t fall in love with loan players. 2) don’t fall back in love with 73 year old interim managers.

One thing I’ll add. If Rodgers actually was the final say in transfer dealings and then went out and said he’d never even heard of the Japanese lads we signed this summer, that is mental behaviour.

I took a few hours off real life earlier this evening with a bit of Ghost of Yotei then FM26 and came back to this. Like 6 hours ago one of my group chats was groaning at the idea of Rodgers getting a new contract, how the fuck did we get here? DD releasing that statement was like a Trump Tweet too.

Hearts showing the importance of a modern, cohesive transfer strategy and what it can deliver at this level on a relatively modest budget. Celtic showing what happens when you have none of those things in place.

Been playing the FM26 Beta for a few hours now and Broadcast Mode with Dynamic Highlights on the new engine is clearly how it’s meant to be played. Also, import an FM24 save: learn the new game without dicking about with all the staff and recruitment nonsense while you find your way.

New upstairs neighbours sound like they’re decorating with some tunes on, they have a playlist of heavy dance remixes of well known pop tunes on. Don’t think Sound of Silence at 180 bpm was what the writers intended if I’m honest.

Celtic are so easy to play against. Slow, predictable, no spark. Keep your shape, stay disciplined and you’re in with a real chance of a result. Today only the latest of many examples. If we go 8 behind Hearts next weekend, Rodgers 100% needs to go. He’s going anyway and it shows.
