I'm six chapters into this and loving it. Stevenson understands the intrinsic link between ghost story structure and pirate story presentation in a way that most other writers don't comprehend, or are too heavy-handed with. Plus it's just good solid fun.

Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

I think Bernadine relates to Astarion because she doesn't always know what she wants, or if her kindness is innate. Is she kind because she wants to be, or kind because she wants to please others, & because it's what's expected of her?

Does Alchemist count? The first time I played Bernadine, I played her as an Alchemist in Pathfinder (& kept her interest in chemistry when I made her a Tav.)
In D&D 4e, she's a Sentinel Druid, which is closer to a Ranger.

One of my students saw the one I colored & thought it was the funniest thing ever (she had no idea it was a Joel Vargskelethor reference).

I admit, I have a bit of a passing interest in #Tavtash. For anyone who ships it: How does your Tav's relationship with Gortash differ from Durgetash, since Tav doesn't have that backstory history with Gortash? Is their dynamic different?
