Thinking of all those American families, including mine, who sent a loved one to fight in WWII. Many never came back.

Today was a vile desecration of their memories and legacies.

Reminder to folks but especially Americans that you can directly donate to Ukraine. And you can specify if you'd like your donation to go to specific projects or focuses. Things are all A Lot right now, I know, but even a token donation can help if you're able.

Got an email back from Huizenga from one of my emails/calls that was weirdly not condescending and mentioned bipartisanship at least five times. It's really kind of creeping me out.

I’ve been fostering this rescue cat for a year now and she really needs a home 😢 she got adopted once by an older fellow but returned bc he was scared of cutting her nails and she would accidentally prickle him up by making biscuits on him. Located in SE Michigan www.petfinder.com/cat/milly-75...

My cat laid on my chest for about a half hour last night in bed. She never does this. She's the most awkwardly affectionate cat I have ever met and the closest we've come to this before is her sitting for five minutes on my laptop on my lap. So, either I'm dying or the world is going to explode.

We officially retired Fisher's 48 inch crate this morning. He was still voluntarily using it, but it was really too small for all night comfort (and he's back to being restricted to a crate all night so he doesn't get into trouble.) Moved his 54 inch crate to three different spots and it ended up...

I always forget how well training works to tire out the dogs. Fisher has resisted settling down all day and has been into everything in ways that only a teenage puppy can be. 10-15 minutes of training with him and Maple and they are both passed out.

Just downloaded Scrivener to my computer and realized how long it's been since I wrote anything fiction (a couple of years!!). But it feels like life has opened up the mental space/need again to write. Not sure what that'll look like in '25, but can't wait to find out.
