Only Solidarity Will Save Us.
@mequashie.bsky.social
My details don't matter now.
Here's what we must do:

1. Get to know as many of our neighbors as possible

2. Organize and prepare for a general strike

3. Uplift each other so we can all keep going.
Pinned
We should collectively start "training" for a general strike.

We could do a Long Weekend When Nobody Leaves Home event so people can see what they need to stock up on, what they'll need help with.

We *will* have to strike because money flow is driving our destruction. Elections won't solve it all.

Republicans were never going to extend the ACA subsidies. THEY DON'T CARE. They think they are never going to lose another election. Gerrymandering, voter suppression, canceling mail-in voting and the Voting Rights Act are all on the agenda. MAGA billionaire has bought Dominion Voting Machines.

So he’s saying all the tariff money we took in is gone and we won’t be able to pay it back. There was always a possibility he could lose this lawsuit and have to refund the tariff money. We didn’t prepare for that possibility? He’s running the govt like he ran his casinos.

Once, my mentor told me to remember that my unqualified, misogynist/racist supervisor loved his family, so I should try to have a more generous and open attitude toward him.

My career became much easier to navigate once I shed that boss, ditched my mentor, and saved generosity for non-bigots.

I mean, how could Democratic Senate Leadership have seen this coming?
In the most predictable development ever, Mike Johnson is not committing to hold a House vote on ACA subsidies

This is what makes me want to throw plates at the wall. The GOP was backed into a corner. The Dems had built political capital, buoyed by last week’s elections, and could have made the GOP *own* all the hardship of the past weeks. But no, had to cave. Squandered it all. AS USUAL. So enraging.

Schumer allows a provision to go into the supposedly “clean” CR to allow people like Ted Cruz to file lawsuits for money over Jack Smith’s J6 investigation. Amazing Dem leadership in the senate. Thanks Chuck!

Looking for two MA Senators to top this list of house reps. You know he must go.
Dems calling for Schumer to be replaced:
- Ro Khanna
- Mike Levin
- Seth Moulton
- Marc Pocan
- Delia Ramirez
- Rashida Tlaib

At least Rep. Jeffries is reading the room. Schumer needs to go. Primary season will be busy for Senate Democrats in 2028.
Listen, think what you want about Hakeem Jeffries. I know I’ve had my fair share of disagreements.

But even after Schumer caved and betrayed all of us, Hakeem is whipping votes on the House floor to try and block this shitty deal and protect Americans’ healthcare. That’s worth a lot.

I'm adding a list of states with the status of their primaries. Please check that your state allows independents to vote without party affiliation.

Also, one last note: you don't "fix" the party by walking away from it. You lean in harder, and elect better candidates in the primaries.

"Internal recriminations" is such an interesting way to frame the reaction Democrats are having to rogue Senators acting in opposition to the will of their constituents.

There are two big problems with the “the Dem strategy wasn’t working argument.” One is that it was. The other is that changing the strategy did not require capitulation.

The people showed up in the streets for "No Kings."

They did their part.

The people showed up at the polls on Tuesday.

They did their part.

8 Democrats in the Senate surrendered last night.

They did not do their part.

“Hopefully the Republicans may hear us” may be the dumbest sentence I’ve heard uttered since her colleague from Maine said Trump “learned his lesson” after his first impeachment.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

reminder to any ambitious Dems waiting in the wings: announcing a primary challenge right now to a squishy Democrat who’s up in 2026, whether they voted tonight to shine Trump’s shoes or not, will almost instantaneously be awash in cash. fortune—and a primary challenge—favors the bold.

There are real families with earners who work 40+ hours weekly and yet qualify for SNAP and Medicaid.

This is purely because companies are allowed to pay workers a sub-living wage.

Fuck Republicans forever.

This #SocialistSunday I wish for the entire Trump administration to be in prison. What the actual fuck, man.
NEW: The Trump admin told states it must immediately "undo" the work to provide full food stamp benefits, or face penalties. The feds sent this in a late-night memo, only adding to the chaos and confusion around SNAP. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/09/b...
