A summer ice-free Arctic Ocean could become a reality as early as the 2030s. In the new IcyAlert project, researchers will use #climate models, causal methods and #AI to develop a new early warning system for ice-free summers in the Arctic and its impacts.

ECMWF released a 1st version of the probabilistic model of the AI Forecasting System (AIFS). AIFS ENS v1 provides an ensemble forecast and runs side by side with the traditional physics-based IFS to advance numerical weather prediction.
