25 years ago today, SCOTUS elected George W Bush president of the United States by blocking completion of a voting canvass in Florida. A subsequent canvass by the Associated Press showed that Bush's rival, Al Gore, had won the race in Florida—and thus the contest for the presidency—by 700 votes.

The full requirements will end tourism in the United States.

NEW: President Donald Trump says he is granting a pardon to Tina Peters, who was convicted on state charges related to tampering with Colorado's election systems. Legal experts say presidential pardons do not apply to state charges.

My self published book about my grandfather’s exploits as a college football star has sold about the same amount, and I did exactly 0 marketing, with the exception of an interview I did with the local newspaper in Martins Ferry, OH.

Point being, wow. That’s not good at all

Trump 0-3 on indicting Tish James and just had his ass handed to him by Indiana Republican legislators he threatened and bullied. Also new low in AP poll at 36% approval.

You're in a car accident. So you call all the ERs from the ambulance and see who's offering a special. Hell, maybe you can ask hospital B to beat hospital A's price. It'll be like car dealerships. "How much can you spend a month, Randi?" "What will it take to get you into this ER today?"
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

Dems have flipped 25 GOP elected positions in the past year. The GOP has flipped 0.

Not that I mind, of course. But the GOP needs to re evaluate themselves in a hurry or they are going to smoked on an epic scale in 11 months.

A huge night for Democrats:

—They flip Miami's mayorship.
—They flip a state House district in Georgia that had voted Trump by 13%.
—They keep Albuquerque's mayorship, while the liberal faction flips city council.
—And they get big overperformances (+18 & +22) in 2 Florida specials.

A lot of GOP whistling past the graveyard while Dems are flipping GOP seats coast to coast. Frankly, I’m OK with that.

But as a guy who did campaigns professionally for 15 years and remains, the arrogance of ignoring the obvious from MAGA land is really something to behold.
BREAKING: Democrats have *flipped* a seat in Georgia's state House tonight.

Democrat Eric Gisler has won the seat, which was previously held by a Republican who resigned this fall.

This is a red territory: Trump won the district by 13% in 2024.
