So stoked to get the 4K of Dan O’Bannon’s The Resurrected. This was his second and final time directing after Return of the Living Dead. Thanks @vinsyn.bsky.social

I dug The Long Walk. Brutal and tense but always with its heart on its sleeve. David Jonsson turning into one of my favorite actors.

Alien: Earth ep 5. Kind of wish they’d kept what happened on the ship ambiguous but totally get why they had to make things clearer. Morrow continues to be my favorite character. Down with Prodigy! Death to the boy genius!

Highest 2 Lowest is my movie of summer. So beautiful and thrilling and fun and thematically resonant to right now. The “battle” climax was so inventive it took my breath away. Haven’t felt like that watching a movie in a very long time.

So visually full from NIN Peel it Back that I feel like I just want to look at trees and grass for the rest of the month. 😅

It's Ultra Man day?! Here's my only (so far) drawing of Ultra Man. Drawn on 11" x 17" board, using blue pencil, Copic Multiliner pen, black ink, traditional screen tones, and some white paint.

Finally got around to watching the directors cut of Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven. I remember Esad praising this ages ago. Despite being over 3 hours it flies by. So well paced and beautifully crafted. Incredible design and presentation. Love Edward Norton’s performance as the gentle Leper King.

Rewatched John Frankenheimer’s The Train and while the in camera train stunts are spectacular, I was most affected by his use of close-ups and silence for conveying emotion. He’s such a deft director and these moments are genuine and affecting. Whether noble or vile- he cares about his characters.
