One of my favourite puzzle apps had a maths puzzle that was incorrect given the correct order of operations. I sent a message and for the last four plays, it seems like they corrected it.

Changing the world, little by little.

I mean, we can potluck based on the regions? U.S. and UK people can bring drinks.
This map is a great example of why I dislike the food discourse.

Food is about emotional connections. As a Western Norwegian, I would have to choose A because I'd rather miss out on all the other things than homemade bread, venison stew & blueberry cordial, to mention just a few things.
For the rest of your life, you can only eat food from one of these regions. Which do you choose?

If anybody who isn't harming anyone else or themselves is bothering you just by existing - the problem is you

Signed: an immigrant who is disturbed by the "raise the flag" movement taking hold in Scotland
A reminder: if a trans person existing in a space with you causes you discomfort or anxiety, you should not harass or exclude them. You should speak to a decent therapist instead. Just saying.

I understand and agree with the critiques against genAI, but given how search engines suck now (I'm starting to wonder if they've ever been good), I wanted to find African political scientists working in my field and I should not have been surprised how many there are that I have never known about.

If you cite me, just know I appreciate you, because there are times when I'm like, "WHY AM I WRITING A BOOK? WHO IS GOING TO READ THIS THING?" So, you are helping me keep going when I would rather take a nap.

On the supposed map controversy, I was always taught Mercator and Peters and why they were different. It's just not that hard. I do think the Peters projection should be standard now.

And that being taught both, as an undiagnosed autistic made me love maps.

A huge difficulty in being ADHD is wanting to do multiple things and being constrained to doing one at a time - and worse, when one thing reminds you of another. Slow things and "passive" things make you feel like you're not being proactive (especially in this shitty productive-minded society).

Another poorly made video about the dangers of offloading your thinking to GenAI, and ignoring the process while focusing only on the output.

Using chatgpt for some random stuff and I can see how it just generally preys on people's desire for validation. The option for it to no longer suck up to you seems to be gone. "that's a great point!"
"What an insightful question!"
"You seem to be interested in doing critical analysis!"
