Nigel Farage said their flagship council in Kent would be a "shop window" for how they would run the country.

Just months after taking over they're now set to slash multiple council committees as they struggle to fill posts after sacking nine of their own councillors

This incident is a direct consequence of a culture where drivers are never held accountable for aggressive, violent driving.

"There’s no reason cycling should be this dangerous. There’s no reason a traffic disagreement should end with a knife on the ground and blood on the pavement."

first it's pensions, then it's healthcare, then vacation, finally it's the wages, pretty soon you're just going to one box to work all day for no money and going to another to get the rest of snap to eat, which sounds a lot like how they described the soviet union to me in the 80s but what do i know
Is this good? It doesn't seem good.

"Walgreens will no longer give many of its retail workers paid vacation time for Thanksgiving, Christmas and other major holidays, as the company looks to cut costs under new owners."

Rewatching "Children of Men" for the 1st time in almost 20 years and OMG, the opening lines.

"Day 1,000 of the Siege of Seattle. The Muslim community demands an end to the Army's occupation of mosques...the deportation of illegal immigrants will continue."

The movie takes place in 2027.

The BBC is ours. It's ours to love. Ours to criticise. Ours to shout at when we feel in the mood.

And if Farage thinks that the way to win favour with voters is to stand around cheering as Trump takes down the BBC for $1 billion of personal enrichment then he's a bigger fool than anyone thought.

The BBC is in crisis in the same way that GB News would be if you put Owen Jones on the board armed with a veto and plenty of coffee.

The BBC needs to realise it is under attack from fascists and competitors, and that those people will happily act in bad faith. To defend itself it really shouldn't broadcast anything that they say.

SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.

It can’t make any sense to tax electric car drivers for not burning fossil fuels while allowing people that fly to pay no tax for burning fossil fuels. The answer is simple, extend the charging per mile to the airline industry. Fair, climate effective and tax raising - all at the same time.
