Last Tuesday a car crash on Dunbrack St took out the traffic lights. On Thursday I emailed 311 photos of the debris that was still all over the road/sidewalk. This morning on his way to work during the freezing rain my spouse ran over a big sharp piece of metal at this exact spot and got a flat 🙃

Five corporations control 90% of the US media market.

Airlines merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today.

Four giants control 80% of meat processing.

A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry.

The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.

Jimmy Kimmel is a symptom of a huge problem: a concentrated media ecosystem beholden to corporate whims.

Canadian media struggles with this too.

Consider Global News' management making Ben Mulroney a top political host.

It's a worryingly partisan decision, especially given what I just uncovered:

Canada’s Parliament just gave Charlie Kirk a standing ovation.

You can oppose political violence without rewriting the legacy of a man who did a lot of harm to vulnerable and marginalized communities.

But Canada’s politicians, some media and many employers don’t seem to entirely understand that:

This is classic CDN media misrepresentation.
What went down at Christie Pits wasn't two sides of the same issue.
This was a hate rally demanding mass deportations against people who live in Toronto. It was a fascist hate gathering.
They were countered by people standing up for their neighbours.
