WFAA: Wednesday's vote came after a bill allowing for local elections to be moved to November in odd-numbered years was approved by the Texas legislature over the summer and was signed into law.

It was authored by Sen. Nathan Johnson and Sen. Royce West.

The City Council has unanimously voted to move municipal elections to November, making Dallas the first city in Texas to adopt Senate Bill 1494.

Once again, executive overreach threatens Texas businesses by blocking HUB certification and fair competition in state contracting.
