when i was young, i ordered Villains & Vigiliantes #TTRPG from an ad in Dragon magazine. the ads were character sheets and i wanted to know what all that stuff meant! i waited the usual "six to eight weeks" for delivery and it came while i was recovering from surgery. i was so happy.

I don’t know how many times I can read takes about “institutions have to engage with gen AI!!” When what they mean is “fully embrace it with little reflection.” Because apparently “having lots of discussions and pointing out its flaws and problematic areas” doesn’t count as “engaging” with it.

it's the lack of basic literacy that really gets me
students not being able to tell the difference of implication between "belief requires knowledge" and "knowledge requires belief"

as an undergrad, i had an English professor who looked like Louise Brooks and who was into Bing Crosby and BDSM and after my third class in a row with her we went out a few times and it took me years to really grasp how fucked up that dynamic was
