Yes, and it proves your original point. It would be simple to schedule it weekday to make an actual economic impact. The fact that they do not schedule for economic impact, and for the reasons stated in your original post, this "protest" seems like controlled opposition. No real impact. Toothless.

In 2017, workers taking a 20 min break to watch the solar eclipse cost the US economy >$600 million in lost productivity. Imagine the losses if people left work an hour early, or took the entire day off, as a political statement. Then multiply that to once a week. Fastest way to get real attention.

I largely agree. Perhaps attending a toothless event could be the first baby step for some people towards active resistance and change? If people abandoned work for the day to attend, it would actually be an effective act of resistance, a strike! Do it once a week with demands, we would see change!

Abusers thrive in communities where people are taught not to speak up, & that was my situation. Now if I feel sad or mad I speak up, even if it makes others uncomfortable. It also makes relationships easier. People know if I am mad & why, no guessing needed. Releasing emotions helps control them too

If betrayed at work, I will confront that person directly in a concise way, and then move on. I also used to be self-deprecating but it twisted my mind and drove others away. It took years to get over that habit. Now I say, "I am just a person," "everyone makes mistakes," "it's ok to be different."

Thanks for sharing. I relate to this a lot, I am a crazy sensitive person and I have tried many strategies to survive. The most healthy one for me is to feel intensely in the moment, communicate it in a direct (not personal attack) way, and then immediately let it go.
