Jane Fonda is one of the few white liberal celebrities who actually puts actions behind her words. She adopted the daughter of a Black Panther who went to prison. She used money from her workout videos to fund her activism. She supported gay rights in the 1970s.

Happy Elizabeth Peratrovich Day!

Loving to see posts honoring her work all over the feed! :)
2/16/1945 — Elizabeth W. Peratrovich, a native Tlingit civil rights activist, won her long civil rights fight for the First People in Alaska with the passage of the territory’s Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945, the first anti-discrimination law in the U.S. #womenshistory #civilrights #DEI #OTD

This quote is soooo relevant right now
Honoring Elizabeth Peratrovich, Tlingit civil rights activist, today and her powerful words: "Asking you to give me equal rights implies that they are yours to give. Instead, I must demand that you stop trying to deny me the rights all people deserve."
@yatseen.bsky.social Happy to see you on this platform. You were the first Tlingit musician I ever heard on SiriusXM Radio back in 2021!
