Having finished a book tracing US migration & citizenship from the colonial period to 1888, the lesson people are missing today from history is: 1) Without legal citizenship, all kinds of discrimination can be done to you & w/ no due process/equal protection. This is the very reason why the 14th 1/

The power of the young:
In 2021, only 11% of voters aged 18 to 29 bothered to vote for NYC mayor and Gotham got the quickly disgraced Eric Adams.

In 2025, that age group voted at 43%, which was the basis of the Mamdani landslide.

“Traumatized, humiliated, degraded.”

The nurse, a US citizen, 4’11”, 85 lbs, says she was following orders when she was dragged out of her car by masked immigration agents in Florida.

It was the 3rd time she had been stopped and told to produce ID.

This really is grotesque: they went through years-long citizenship processes and are now being denied simply because if the country they are from. It’s formalized bigotry.

This entire admiration is “so wtf are you going to do about it?”
Can't believe our tax dollars are going to be spent settling the upcoming exorbitant defamation suit with Sabrina Carpenter, but maybe this is just how public arts funding is going to work now.
Sabrina Carpenter ratioed the White House after it used her song in an ICE video.

The WH deleted the post…but now it’s back with a new ICE video, this time using an altered clip from Carpenter’s SNL monologue.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

To say this for the 50th time, for anyone who doesn't know:

Three young conservative lawyers were part of the GOP "Florida recount" team that led to GWB becoming president, via Bush-v-Gore.

They were: John Roberts. Brett Kavanaugh. Amy Coney Barrett.

It's hard grasp the scale of wealth inequality, and the work-free income that wealth delivers.

If u have $10M u can spend $500K/yr w zero work, and just keep getting richer.

$10M is bubkes: $200B is 20,000 times as much.

Really hard not to see last year quite clearly as a Black woman being nominated for the first time and the response being the return of Jim Crow.

National parks change prioritizes Trump birthday over days honoring Black people

Every time I hear someone refer to MTG’s district I am reminded of how a professor in bschool in 1975 told me I could not (I wasn’t going to) accept a job that would put me there for 6 months because I would be murdered! It was a Klan stronghold and still is!
