There isn’t anywhere I’d rather be than paddling my kayak, biking a trail, and hanging out with my family. Politics have tried to rob our joy. Life is too short, live fully and find your joy.
@smerconish.bsky.social omg if my thoughts get interrupted every time I pass a store employee, I’m going to lose my mind. I usually have ten reels going through my mind- Christmas meal, how to turn leftovers into an awesome meal, how to decorate the patio next summer, how hungry I am at the moment

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

A reminder - last March, republicans promised to restore $1.1B in funding to DC in exchange for funding the government, and Mike Johnson never took it up in the House.

3) this fight. The first centrist who makes a full-throated commitment to stop this 45-year transfer of wealth from the middle class to the .01% will be lifted up by an unstoppable wave of American voters from both parties, as well as millions who've given up on voting at all.

40 years ago we’d have congressional hearings falsely accusing metal bands of putting backwards messages in their songs that told kids to kill themselves & now we have a planet-killing chatbot that’s all like “bet you won’t commit suicide chickenshit bitch” & the government is like here’s $5 billion

@smerconish.bsky.social I propose a Court of Incivility where Law Students are the lawyers. Those convicted are sentenced to cleaning public toilets.
November 7, 2025 at 2:49 PM
@smerconish.bsky.social Civility has been eroded steadily since 2015. To draw the line at a sandwich after George Floyd, Charlotte, J6, the assault of Pelosi’s husband and subsequent joking, the assassination of Democrat Politicians and no condemnation by GOP. The sandwich is a signal of erosion.
November 7, 2025 at 2:36 PM
@smerconish.bsky.social Jeanine Pirro has supported Trump pardons of all January 6 assaults on Police. Hard to indict the ham sandwich when people with flagpoles actually assaulted and caused bodily harm.
November 7, 2025 at 2:27 PM
@smerconish.bsky.social Yes, it is uncivil to throw a sandwich at a Troop. But it is corruption when Trump continues to pardon criminals who were justly convicted of crimes of corruption.

Jim Jordan thinks talking fast makes him right. His insufferable defense of authoritarian policies makes me sick. Listening to him on the Stephen A Straight Shooter was nauseating!

That was all obvious. That shitbag Tarrio walked with Trump at the WH not too long before j6. All those capitol tours by the flunkies in congress, the illegal alt electors, etc

@smerconish.bsky.social If Trump & GOP would have done what they said in the campaign: Lower prices, create jobs, higher wages, deport the worst of the criminals here illegally, the Democrats wouldn’t have won. Instead we have grievance politics, nonstop chaos, educated/experienced people…1/

the bleakest moment in this article is the point where a heritage staffer, horrified by fuentes, discovers that "a growing number" of heritage interns are groypers
My assumption is that the New York Post has better sources inside Heritage than most other press outlets. One tidbit of note: Princeton's Robert P. George, a Heritage trustee, is said to be pushing fellow board members to oust its president Kevin Roberts. Hope he succeeds.
