I caught ChatGPT not being able to count, a strawberry moment.

I gave it a simple case: I need to memorize 3 7 7 4 2 6 4 1 5 3 7 5.

It was mistaken on the first attempt

I tried again, and again, and again. And it messed up.

LLMs cannot count?

Google engineers can also be not so brilliant.

I have an email with several dots.

I can log into Gmail. But, on requesting recovery options, the email is displayed without dots.

Billion dollars still miss edge cases!

I cannot find simple tools on the internet. All i find is Ai this and Ai that.

I put together a Starter Pack for folks who have written books about Python programming, or which substantively use Python to teach something else. Let me know if you've written such a book and would like to be included. go.bsky.app/5TbQa24

Day 4 of Rust interpreter course awaits.

"Every little .clone() is a quiet plea for help."

"Is this an ego thing? You not wanting to use .clone()?"

"Yes. Clones are for the weak."

Ahem. Where was I? Oh yeah, writing an interpreter.

Shout out to @simonwillison.net ’s shot-scraper for grabbing web browser screenshots from the command line.

I redid dozens of screenshots for the upcoming book update, and shot-scraper made it way easier than my previous approach with Firefox’s screenshot tool.

Distilling my years of freelancing into a codex.

Freelancing is more than well, just a one-shot gig.
