Finally met the British ambassador....he's very fucking posh. All the embassies have a stall and have traditional food. We've gone for Algerian, Palestinian and er....Mince Pies off the Brits.

I just want a slice of cake. Cake contains butter.. Butter costs about the same as gold or printer ink here....it is not used in baking.

One thing I definitely don't miss. Enforced war Christmas. If it's that important, you'd have a public holiday...... which I'll be enjoying on Tuesday..no poppy required, but the pub will be open.

The embassy have organised War Christmas here, and a free curry. Possibly free. Invited me to Christmas carols once, then revealed it was £140 for a fucking mince pie and a glass of sherry. They seemingly spend the entire budget on war related matters. They do zero that engages normal locals
