Yorkshireman. Does some stuff for work. Drinks some beer occasionally. Likes to spell yoghurt correctly. A paid up member of the Tory party.
Just had a nice chat with the man going door to door selling coffee, tea and biscuits. Makes a change from broadband people who seem to be targeting me.

Ah, the Eurostar experience. Take any aspect of flying or getting the train, pick the worst option then combine them.

My wife : “apparently, Whamageddon only starts on the 1st”
Me : “that’s interesting”
Me (to my phone) :”hey siri, play Last Christmas in the kitchen”

Had the misfortune to watch BBC breakfast this morning. What a tedious bunch of talking heads with a weird slant on every story.
Doctors and cancer charities say we shouldn’t do general screening for prostate cancer. Here’s a bloke who thinks they’re wrong.

When I woke up and saw the cricket score it was somewhat of a shock but in retrospect maybe not so bad from England

Current temperature is 2C. Feels like -7 though. This does not make me eager to go for a run.

Decided on BBC radio coverage and at this point I’m certainly glad I didn’t pay.
Got the afternoon to myself, thought I’d pay to watch the rugby. There’s an amount I’d quite happily pay for one game. That amount is not £30 for a monthly sub to TNT.

Every time Donald Trump says something negative about Britain the government should sue him for $5bn

I’m on an LNER train, heading to London. Does anyone want to guess how visible this “surge” of policing is? Not that I’d necessarily want it, but why bother saying it?

Apparently Siri thinks it’s ok to play Christmas songs already. I disagree, as much as I like “Stop the Cavalry”.

Just treated myself to some AirPods Pro 3 as my old ones were no longer handling train noise and I’ve got an 11 hour flight. The noise cancelling on these new ones is incredible.

Impromptu beer in Helsinki airport, having missed my connecting flight due to incompetent ground crew in Amsterdam. At least Helsinki is one of the nicer airports

I thought that going cashless was a good idea anyway but now the Telegraphy is against it I’m even more sure.

Turns out that my daughter had not forgotten that today is Taylor Swift album launch day.

Why not apply this to everyone and deport thick people and benefits scroungers?

For me to get a job in the UK I need to prove that I have the right to do so. My employer asked me to show my passport.
A less scrupulous employer might skip that step of course.
Which problem does the digital id “card” solve?

Guys, this was a Brexit benefit. Is that what you want?

Just spent some time in the Irish pub at Schiphol airport. I know it’s not important but it’s interesting that they serve beer in pints.

Rather than an expensive to implement ID card scheme, did no one consider just banning cash which would actually save money and reduce tax evasion to boot?

Flying again, but this time from LCY, which is nice.

Just ask folks in Beijing their thoughts on Tiananmen Square. Turns out, if you properly commit this stuff does work.

Absolutely delighted that the new iPhone Air only supports esims as that might mean the telcos have to sort out how to make that work instead of shrugging and suggesting a plastic sim.

How does this help verify my account? You want my DOB and, it turns out, my phone number?
