I don't think we should look at people with the means to flee the country as abandoning those who can't.
I look at them like the seed bank Musk is trying to destroy.
We hope we don't need to rely on seeds from our community being planted in other soil... but it's nice to know they're there.

"For old men like me, transgenderism is a foreign concept.....However, what really convinced me to approve the airman’s request was the airman. Imagine how much courage it took to come into a commander’s office and request such a procedure. That’s courage. And we need more of that in the military."
"In total, I commanded five transgender airmen. (All airmen, regardless of gender, are 'airmen,' by the way.) Like all airmen, they had their strengths and their weaknesses.…Good commanders take care of their people. I hope I took good care of mine. I tried to treat them with dignity and respect."
Transgender Service Members Aren’t the Problem
The problem is people in high office who can’t recognize bravery, patriotism, and sacrifice.

Interesting failure case for OpenAI's DeepResearch:
Competitive intel for work!
Companies are incentivized to control the narrative by massively overstating and sometimes lying about what their products actually do. And many end-users don't know or can't tell the difference.

There's a transmasculine version of this. If someone assigned female can become a man, it means there's nothing so special or powerful about men.
Each of us has the biological truth of equality between the sexes within us, as demonstrated by the ability of some to pass from one to the other.
