Trump said he would lower drug prices by something like 800%, a promise so mathematically ridiculous that the only way to make it work would be for drug companies to pay Americans to get their prescriptions filled.
Mike Johnson: "If you run as a socialist, you run on a big list false claims. You promise everything to everyone, and you can't deliver, and if you were able to deliver it would be to the great detriment of the people you lured in to vote for you."

This was great news to wake up to. For all of my NYC hot takes, this was the vote I truly cared the most about, and I’m so glad my fellow Mecklenburgers chose to invest in our growth as a city and region.
Mecklenburg County voters approved a tax referendum Tuesday that will set in motion a multi-billion dollar regional transportation overhaul.

Uni Watch wasn’t just the most comprehensive place to keep up with a specific niche I was obsessed with; it was infused with a thoughtful, sometimes provocative perspective on consumerism, advertising, culture, & capitalism that pushed us to be conscious of how we interact with the sports industry.
Grateful to Paul, his team, and the site's community for shedding some light on and giving some respect to sports design. I started specializing in this niche 35 years ago—there were probably 5 people total who were there with me. RIP Uni Watch

Having laid out my concerns around Mamdani a few days ago, there is NOTHING he has stood for or said that even comes remotely close to the hateful, divisive, overtly dangerous filth coming out of the Cuomo campaign over the past few days.
This is really despicable and deserves to be Andrew Cuomo's political obituary. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/23/n...

This is a pretty fair article, but it doesn't go far enough to make the connection as to why Zohran's foreign policy views are relevant for a local race as more than just a matter of disagreement with a large constituency.

Goddamn, this sucks so much. I just took it for granted that he was going to show up every 10-12 years for the rest of time with a new masterfully-crafted instant classic. RIP.

Every time a person or group kisses up to Trump and thinks they can use him to get what they want, they get burned and humiliated, and only Trump wins. Now it's Bibi's turn, and literally nobody on earth deserves it more.

Two people were killed outside a Manchester synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. It disgusts me that so many continue to pretend that antisemitic rhetoric isn't resulting in antisemitic hate crimes. This keeps happening.

This piece really speaks to me. I went through a similar journey that also started with not truly understanding Judaism or how I fit into it. I thought my doubts and cynicism towards God and religion were disqualifying, but I came to learn they were actually my most compatible connection to Judaism.
“What I found was nothing like the Judaism I had known.”

In a sign of how I’m feeling about this upcoming Nets season, my first thought seeing this post wasn’t, “lol these not very good players in their mid-20s are our vets?” but rather, “oh thank God MPJ isn’t on there.”

Most of us are actually pretty moderate! Some lean left, some lean right, but most people's politics are more of a hodgepodge that don't fit any neat axis and depend on the issue and situation.
But that kind of content doesn't get engagement.

Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

I'm obviously not rooting for his team to win, but it's wild to me that Tajon Buchanan went from playing at Syracuse to starting a UCL match at Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Sure, we've sent plenty of players to the NFL and NBA, but it's kind of surreal seeing an alum in high-level European soccer.

I’m eternally grateful for everything he did for Tottenham, but I’m also so relieved that the sight of Ange in this exact pose on the sidelines is no longer determinative of whether I had a good weekend or not.

And giving Mamdani supporters a very potent argument to tell the establishment to fuck off the next time they demand that the left coalesce around a centrist candidate “for the good of the party”
The Democratic establishment is kneecapping Mamdani. By waiting this long to endorse, they’re giving Mamdani skeptics permission to stay off board.
One interesting—and yes, troubling—thing about the 48–44, is that the crosstabs have my Mamdani rebuttals baked in. A significant minority of Adams voters go to Zohran, and a significant number of Sliwa voters stay home. Mamdani's problem is that h-2-h doesn't give him a bump in any demographic.
