Let's be honest, here. This is a company that can easily pay a decent wage for human actors, but it's also a company that - when tasked with growing, decided that having drivers piss in bottles and warehouse workers stress-cry in closets was an acceptable tradeoff.

So infuriating as it is that Amazon is dabbling in AI dubs, we've got to make sure that the response here is to emphasize the value of the proper dubs they've been doing rather than just the rejection of AI.

After publishing this article, I've heard from many that CR seems to be using AI to produce dub CCs. Now, thanks to a slip-up CR had with episode 6 dub of The Banished Court Magician, we can say that with 100% certainty: Crunchyroll is using the AI service Ollang.com for its dub closed captions!
