My wife laser cut my logo for me and I painted the mane green. It's 10" in diameter and is going to go on the front of my shop cabinet that holds finishing supplies.

Finally got in a good kayaking session this morning. It was overcast, which I like, and in the mid 60's (Fahrenheit), which I also like. Little bit of breeze, too. Went 4.3 miles in about 1.5 hours. My new kayak glides through the water easier than my other kayaks.

Houdini has decided that THIS bed, which we've had for at least 10 years and has never been used more than twice, is now his favorite bed.
He can do what he wants. He turned 18 a few months ago, so we support any and all of his preferences now. 😉❤️

It's been about six weeks since I had to euthanize my 16-year-old cat, Chexie. I find I still can't talk about her for more than a sentence without getting choked up, but I finally finished her cremation box and her remains are now safely inside.

I had to have my little cat Chexie euthanized on Tuesday. I got to spend 16 wonderful years with her and, in all my time living with cats, I've never been more attached to a cat than I was to her. Still having a rough time keeping my shit together. Pretty sure I'll miss her forever.

25 years ago, I built this cradle for my daughter right before she was born. All I had was a circular saw, a jigsaw, a drill, and a whole bunch of red oak from a big box store.
Today it gets passed on to my niece who is having her first baby next month. ❤️

This is one of my favorite pictures of Milo. It's from last summer. He's just hanging out on a landscaping rock amongst the bushes next to the house and totally looks like it's all his domain. The rock was all sun-warmed and perfectly shaped to hold his chonkness.

Making some progress on my new tool wall, part of a big shop re-org/remodel.
It feels like I'm not making stuff, though. I'm making a nice environment to make stuff, which is fun for awhile, but I'm tired of it now. I want to make actual stuff. 😉

Finally got around to building some shelves specifically for storing a lot of my veneer (this is only *most* of it). It's not a perfect solution but it's a huge improvement!

Milo went out in the catio to keep a closer eye on the birds, but they flew away (of course). But he still sat there for a good 5 minutes or so in the snow... waiting for their return. I think some of them did return, but by that time, he was all, "This sucks" and came back inside.

I finally completed the standing desk project I've been working on since late August. Big sense of relief. It's almost all maple (except for the veneer substrates). I used Sutherland Welles wiping varnish for the finish. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but I'm glad it's done.

Finally got the standing desk project "completed"... fully constructed and assembled. Then I had to disassemble it to apply the finish. Here's the desktop after the first coat of finish... and this is also the reason why finishing is my favorite part of a project. :-)
