Almost caught up on grading today, entered the physics summer school schedule, wrote letter of support for my colleague’s sabbatical, and worked on Partita #2 and K331. Now time to write a quantum exam and do my French homework. phew.

I support this. We need to back progressive candidates in the Democratic Party that will stand up and fight for everyday Americans. We need national universal healthcare, a livable wage, and have the rich pay their fair share.

The key to understanding a lot of US politics is that the unspoken premise on which it all rests is that personhood begins at a certain tax bracket.
Lots going on but from outside it seems that at least part of the calculus was that flight disruption for middle class and up travelers matters more than life disruption for untold numbers who’ll be deprived of health care.

This is what premiums spike to for a man with cancer who is a taxi driver in AZ (met his son). This is Ambetter, operated by private health insurer Centene. It's why we need to extend the ACA credits & fight for Medicare for All.

A leader would not have lost eight colleagues tonight. This happened because you let it happen or because you’ve totally lost control of the caucus in one of the most important moments since you’ve been Democratic leader. Either way, it’s on you. You need to step down. We need someone who can lead.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Looks like we need a democratic socialist to run against Angus King in 2030. Not too damn pleased with him caving to the republicans.

Yes, Mr. President: You’re right. We do have “the worst health care” of any major country.

Despite spending twice as much per capita, we are the only major country not to guarantee health care to all as a human right.

The solution: Medicare for All.

We are pleased to announce our discovery of #GW241011 and #GW241110

Both come from binary black holes where one black hole is much larger than the other. The larger black holes have large spin. Could these black holes have formed in a previous merger?

Vaccines are one of humanity’s greatest scientific achievements.

The fact that members of one political party in the US wants to destroy vaccines signals how unserious they are and how they should not be allowed to govern.
FL is moving forward w/ plan to end all childhood vaccine mandates. Starting with hepatitis B, chickenpox, and the bacteria causing meningitis and pneumonia. Then next year GOP FL legislature is expected to revisit 1977 law re: whooping cough, measles, polio, rubella, mumps, diphtheria, and tetanus.
