Zelensky confirmed Ukraine's Ruta drone-missile hit a Russian offshore platform over 250 km away for the first time. The biggest success came from “Liutyi” and other “Fire Point” drones, used in mass, up to 300 at once.

Ukrainian Neptune and Flamingo missiles have also been used, he confirmed.

Massive fires broke out in Odesa region overnight after a Russian drone attack. Flames engulfed two residential buildings, an administrative facility, a gas station, and port infrastructure. Five people were injured, and the city of Chornomorsk was left completely without power.

Overnight, Russia launched 112 strike drones, mostly Shaheds. By 09:00, Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or jammed 87 drones across the north, south, and east. Twenty-two strikes hit 12 locations, and several Russian UAVs remain airborne.

Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed that on the night of October 9 Defense Forces struck the Korobkovsky Gas Processing Plant (Kotovo, Volgograd region, Russia). The plant is one of the largest in southern Russia, with a capacity of 450 million m³ of gas and 186,000 tons of liquids annually.
