Would that the “art but make it sports” account made an exception for this.
incredible photo that's definitely worth at least 1,000 words from Andrew Harnik of Getty

Giant is ON in this house. One of my favorite movies. A highlight of TCMFF for me was getting to watch it at Grauman’s (2022). #tcmparty

This is like calling Robert Mitchum uncool. You just don’t do that.
Compared to Dylan and Springsteen, country-music legend Johnny Cash can seem deeply uncool. It took time for me to appreciate his profound, plainspoken strength, writes Jon Fasman.

My mother lived in Sylmar when this earthquake hit. Their house was a mess. The nails shook out of the walls of their house and her father hammered them back in.
Clocks from Olive View Hospital frozen at 6.01am, when the Sylmar earthquake struck on February 9, 1971. The hospital was so badly damaged that it was demolished. With all those clocks stopped at the same time, this photo has a bit of a “Twilight Zone” feel to it, doesn't it?

I just showed my mom a vid of “Walt Disney - A Magical Life.” She said, “This is my whole childhood. This is taking me back.” 🥹 Mom and her family lived in Hollywood and later Sylmar and they loved going to Disneyland. They watched Wonderful World of Color. She remembers using the ticket books.

The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show is a fun, raucous, irreverent show. Elliott Lewis is a TREAT. And you get to hear Phil and Alice sing.
Happy birthday, Phil Harris — Jack Benny's bandleader, the voice of Baloo and O'Malley the Alley Cat, and the reason my father called guys “Jackson" for his whole life.

But I love him best for the radio sitcom he did w/ his wife Alice Faye. Listen:

Stephen pulled four 20-something guys on a road trip from New Jersey out of the deep sand in the dunes today. He refused money and they put it in his passenger seat without him knowing and drove off. A moment like that reminds you that good people exist in the midst of a lot of ugliness these days.

I love Mildred Pierce SO MUCH. I told Stephen it was on today and he said, “You really love that one.” 🤭 #tcmparty

To my own surprise, I’ve really been enjoying Red Skelton nights. Usually a little Red goes a long way; but, I’ve also been listening to his radio show. And I love my Esther Williams movies! Watching these with Stephen and my parents tonight. #tcmparty

Stephen: “Which one is this?”

Me: “Murder, My Sweet with Dick Powell.”

Stephen: “Is this the one where he gets knocked around all kinds?” 😄

If you like Murder, My Sweet and noir in general, I highly recommend Dick Powell’s radio show “Richard Diamond, Private Detective.” It’s great! #tcmparty

The first time (first few times) I watched The Wizard of Oz was on a 13" boxy computer monitor that served as our tv in my childhood home (complete with rabbit ears). The flying monkeys scared me. #tcmparty
