my fighting game hot take is that cinematic storymodes suck shit and I hate them. fighting game stories should be drip fed to you via minimal character interactions and unique arcade endings that you have to make sense of and thats IT.

DoA2 Ultimate is my personal fav version of DoA2 but in my experience, it's not as accessible due to it being an OG xbox exclusive. it's part of the xbox backwards compatibility program iirc, but that requires buying a new xbox and realistically who wants to do that (me, if they included tittyball)

While Ninja Gaiden Black is often considered Team Ninja’s magnum opus, a strong case could be made for DOA 2. It’s fast, fluid, still looks fantastic, and the core mechanics are approachable enough that anyone can have a good time.
