Green Party councillor for Ballyfermot-Drimnagh on Dublin City Council
If we delete the account, there is nothing to stop someone else taking the name. The account is there, but inactive. The Green Party took the lead in Ireland, declaring two weeks ago that we had stopped posting to X.

With Trumps threats to Greenland’s independence growing every day, a strong EU response is vital.
I’m calling on the Taoiseach to urgently brief Opposition leaders on the possible use of the EU Anti-Coercion Instrument and the impact on Ireland of the new tariffs threat 🇮🇪 🇬🇱 🇪🇺

If your organisation is still on X, I wrote an article on why organisations especially public ones, shouldn't be!

Hazel Chu: Grok creates fake, sexualised images without consent and government is OK with that?
The Green Party councillor says the government’s decision to turn a blind eye to AI generation of sexual imagery without consent is not innovation, it’s negligence.

Darragh O'Brien seems to be saying the first thing that comes into his head these days
You published a plan seven weeks ago which which ended the 2:1 public transport funding commitment and shelved several public transport projects.

As Justine says, restricting family reunification solves no real problems. It’s performatively cruel & also bizarre given how many separated from their families get jobs minding ours. I’ve written in the past about carers (not just refugees) in similar situations

Last year, we made the decision to step away from X.

The Royal Irish Academy is committed to creating, convening, and sharing knowledge for the public good and as an organisation we value Independence; Integrity; Curiosity; Openness and Rigour.

In our view, X no longer aligns with these values

Ireland has a real chance to take a lead in offshore renewable energy.
But this government is not interested - or maybe just incapable.

If the US Army is bigger than yours, it's perfectly legal for them to invade. That's the law now.
Miller: Denmark is a tiny country with a tiny economy and a tiny military. They cannot defend Greenland… Under every understanding of law that has existed about territorial control for 500 years, to control a territory you have to be able to defend a territory…

"Hey, nobody's perfect!"
He did say Apple & Google should remove it from app stores.

He also said the Govt wouldn’t give “kneejerk” response by immediately coming off X, saying other platforms have issues too.

I interjected to say those other platforms don’t generate CSAM.

He accepts that but said other issues exist.

Deeply concerning that the 'Motorists for Themselves - AUTO' party has been given the Foreign Affairs and Environment portfolios in Andrej Babiš's new Czech Government.
"The incoming Czech government led by oligarch Andrej Babiš is yet another example of how anti-green & anti-climate agenda operates in Central & Eastern Europe."

I made a submission to oppose the proposed changes listed in the consultation by Government to make major changes to the cost rules for judicial reviews.

The proposal is designed to restrict access to justice, in breach of EU law and will only benefit the State and the wealthy.

I was one of five Green councillors who brought a motion to stop #DublinCityCouncil using X.
It has been pushed to the Protocol committee later this month.
@feljin.ie and I will argue there that a line has been crossed, and it is (past) time to stop using that platform.
