Currently in my home island of Guåhan collaborating in community with local CHamoru teachers and scholars to develop culturally relevant data science learning modules. Looking forward to classroom observations in the spring when teachers pilot the lessons!

A break from academic things and a quick personal life update: I married my best friend and the love of my life! Grateful for the opportunity to exchange our vows in front of our loved ones who came from near and far, including those who were able to Zoom in online! #lovewins #husbands #gaywedding

Can data science/literacy be taught in elementary? Absolutely! These last several weeks of the semester, my elem math preservice Ts are learning the fundamentals of data collection, organization, and visualization. They’re excited to try some of these activities in their internship class next sem!
